It is hard to believe that we are at the end of our fourth week of the Autumn Term - the time has flown by!
It was wonderful to hear all about the exciting creative industries that our Year 6 children experienced today during their transition day at Acle High School.
Thank you to all the parents and carers that attended the Reception class parent phonics session on Tuesday - we hope you found this session informative and helpful in supporting your child in the development of their early reading.
Thank you for your continuing support.

Year Group News
Nursery
This week in nursery we have enjoyed a range of activities linked to our sense of sight. We have had fun helping each other to navigate obstacle courses and routes when blindfolded, thinking about the best words to describe the route. Our book has been 'Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?', which has led to discussions around colours and our favourite animals.
Reception
This week our Reception children have been super creative and imaginative and used materials and props to make an 'outdoor cinema'. There were tickets made, show times recorded and brilliant performances of 'Frozen', 'Mario' 'the circus' and many more! We read the story, 'Funnybones' and drew our own bodies and then labelled our body parts. We also used art straws to create our own Funnybones skeletons! In Maths we have had fun singing songs and counting to 10 and beyond as well as deepening our understanding of numbers to 10.
Year 1
Year 1 have been exploring different types of technology in our computing lesson this week. Lots of us were surprised that a pencil sharpener is classed as technology, as it is man made and was designed to help us.
It has been fantastic to see your globes you have made at home for our Geography work. Your photos are being displayed in the classroom. Thank you!

Year 2
Year 2 have had another great week. In art they listened to a piece of music and made marks with paint in response to what they could hear and how it made them feel. They enjoyed learning about habitats in science, thinking about the different places that animals and plants live and going outside to find minibeasts in different microhabitats.
Year 3
Year 3 have had a brilliant week and have played a whole netball match! They tested different solutions to see which one would harden fabric and have also written fantastic diaries about the rock cycle. In English, they have written narrative descriptions about a mysterious door.
Year 4
This week in Year 4 they have had another very busy week. The class have continued to read the story 'The Queen's Nose' and shown their reading skills whilst answering retrieval and inference questions. The class enjoyed an interesting computing lesson where they learnt about the internet and how information is shared and the importance of protecting these networks. The whole class continued to enjoy their weekly karate lesson - showing great resilience and control.
Year 5
This week Year 5 Badgers Class have been learning all about mixing materials in Science. We also completed our story writing in English and have now moved onto writing formal letters. The class are working hard and are impressing me every day - what a good start to the year! Keep it up!
Year 6
Year 6 have had another busy week. They have continued to write and improve their own autobiography's and Mr Cocks has been very impressed with their focus and use of ambitious vocabulary. In their Science lesson they continued to develop their understanding of circuits - looking at how to expand these safely. They ended their week with another transition visit to Acle High School which was 'amazing!'.

In Celebration assembly last Friday, Launchpad won the golden broom award for the tidiest classroom. Well done Launchpad! In our Topic lessons we have been learning about the layers of the rainforest. We have started to explore this and we are going to be making our very own display as a class. We have been finding out why certain animals live in different layers. We have been combining our Science lesson on habitats within our Topic lessons too
